Shady Lady, Miss Olivia’s and Sarah’s on the Square

Looking for a place to stay or eat in Gainesville, TX?  These should not be missed!

In the late 1800′s the downstairs was the nicest saloon in town, but upstairs one would find the real entertainment. Madame Sarah purportedly feathered the nest of ‘soiled doves’ until the saloon owner, Mr. Hosapple, fell in love and married her. Today, it’s the Shady Lady, a fabulous B & B in Gainesville, Texas.

With a little more refined history, Miss Olivia’s Bed and Breakfast is a lovely Italianate Victorian home located in the heart of Gainesville’s historic district. A comfortable elegance will have you sipping lemonade on the shade of the front porch, sleeping like royalty and awakening to fresh coffee and a breakfast fit for a king!

Sarah’s on the Square serves up contemporary comfort food, delicious and down home. Located on the square in downtown make sure to save room for one of their amazing homemade desserts!
